['næʃnl 'bæȖks], zu den Commercial Banks zählende Gruppe privater Kreditinstitute in den USA, die ihre Tätigkeit im Gegensatz zu den State Banks nicht aufgrund der Genehmigung eines einzelnen Staates, sondern auf der Grundlage eines für die USA insgesamt gültigen Gesetzes ausüben. Die National Banks sind zur Mitgliedschaft beim Federal Reserve System verpflichtet.
